Hand-Hewn Distressed Pine Box Beams

Hand-hewn distressed pine box beam with deep broadaxe tooling and aged texture

Made in Michigan. Built for your project.

The look and feel of reclaimed barn timber — deep broadaxe marks, gouges, edge wear, and the worn character of a hand-shaped beam — milled fresh in our Comstock Park, Michigan shop. This is the boldest texture we make.

Each beam is a hollow box built from solid pine boards, precision-milled and mitered at the corners. You get the presence of a structural timber, light enough to mount over a cleat. Built to your dimensions and delivered across West Michigan and beyond by freight or local drop-off.

Finish options

  • Urban Sandstone — a light, sandy neutral that lets the grain read through.

  • Saddle — a warm mid-brown with the grain showing.

  • Slate — a weathered, desaturated grey.

  • Deep Timber — a deep, near-black brown with high contrast.

Suited to

  • Industrial lofts and urban interiors

  • Barn-style homes and rustic spaces

  • Breweries, restaurants, and commercial builds

  • Projects after the reclaimed-timber look

Solid beam or box beam?

A box beam is built from solid boards into a hollow form with mitered corners. You get the full look and proportion of a solid timber at a fraction of the weight, which makes it far easier to handle and install.

Are these structural?

No. Our box beams are decorative and non-load-bearing. They wrap existing framing, posts, or structural members to get the look of solid timber without added construction.

How do they install?

Each beam slides over wood cleats or blocking fastened to your ceiling or wall. Because the beam is hollow, it suits remodels and retrofits with minimal structural work.

Where are they made?

Every beam is built to order in our Comstock Park shop in West Michigan.

Lead times

Most orders ship within 4–6 weeks after final color approval. Finish samples ship within 2 business days.

Shipping & returns

Full-size beams are too long for standard parcel carriers and ship by freight or local West Michigan delivery. Because each order is cut and finished to spec, custom orders are final sale.

Full-size box beams are not sold for direct online checkout — they are too long for standard parcel shipping. Order a physical sample to review the finish in your space, then request a custom quote sized to your project and delivery location.
