01 / CHARACTER & MATERIAL
These box beams are built from real white oak boards with precision-mitered corners. The hollow, three-sided construction gives the appearance of a solid timber beam with less weight.
Urban Sandstone is a custom stain finish on white oak. Natural grain, mineral streaks, knots and tonal variation make each beam individual. Color can vary from board to board and with the lighting in your space.
Sample and standard 6-foot beam
Order a 7-inch x 7-inch x 12-inch sample or a 7-inch x 7-inch x 6-foot box beam from the Urban Sandstone product page.
Custom sizes and lengths
For custom sizes or box beams 8 feet or longer, reach out for a quote. Share your beam count, outside width and height, lengths, and project details.
The beams are decorative and non-load-bearing. Confirm installation and fit requirements before ordering.

A three-sided wrap, not a solid timber.
A box beam is a hollow, U-shaped shell built from real wood boards. It fits over mounting cleats or existing structure you want to conceal.
From below and either side, you see real wood. The hollow construction gives the proportions of solid timber with less weight. Every full-size beam is built to your dimensions.
Built with concealed joinery.
Real solid wood
Every beam is built from real solid wood boards, with the grain and character of natural lumber.
Mitered corners
Boards are milled and mitered at the corners to form a clean, three-sided beam.
Hollow by design
The hollow construction creates the proportions of solid timber with less weight and fits over mounting cleats.
Outside width
Measure the finished outside width required for each beam. Include anything the hollow beam needs to fit over.
Outside height
Include the finished outside height and any ceiling, wall or trim conditions that affect the fit.
Run lengths
List the length and quantity for each run. Add your ZIP code and any project photos or drawings with the request.

Built to fit over mounting cleats.
The three-sided hollow beam fits over mounting cleats secured to the supporting structure. Plan the beam dimensions around the space and anything it needs to conceal.
